I'm wondering why body fillers are not more popular for PE.
When I joined this board 7-8 years ago, it was 99.9% about PMMA, with the very occasional post about something else.
I started first here the conversation about Ellanse many years ago and I'm really glad to see so many posts about Ellanse today. I'm really happy if I helped someone with my initial research and prompted doctors to trial this. At that time, I wrote to dozens of doctors about Ellanse and although no one offered it, I opened up a conversation. Now people who want Ellanse have options.
However, Ellanse is not the right product for me.
I have experimented a lot with HA - have recently had around 14 cc in total and have dissolved it once again. All this has taken a big financial toll on me, but if anything I learnt that if you're uncut you need a lot of patience and effort (read: touch ups and $$$$) to get things right. I did come at some point close to achieving a very good result but then things went wrong for reasons I don't want to discuss here and I had to dissolve all my filler once again.
I do want to try this again as I miss the volume I had. However, the abnormally high cost of facial fillers prevents me to embark on this again.
So, I want to open conversation here about other more affordable options, and hopefully I open up a debate and willingness for doctors to trial products just like I did with Ellanse many years ago.
Body fillers: Why on earth are these not popular for PE?
I'm in Europe at the moment and had a conversation with a plastic surgeon here about fillers (not PE related). One topic led to another and he pointed out to me that there are really good body fillers on the market today, with a high level of purity and cross-linkedness which may be very suitable for PE. The dark ages when we only had Macrolane - a relatively inferior filler - are long gone.
Interestingly, I had convesation with people on this board who trialled Macrolane, and as inferior as it may have been, there were some really good reports. Somone - I will not reveal his name but he's welcome to reply here - even told me that he tried Macrolane and Voluma and much preferred Macrolane (of course for a fraction of the price of Voluma).
But this thread is not about Macrolane. This doctor that I had a conversation with me pointed to me the existance of good and cheap body fillers For example, he had good experience with the Hyacorp range - a high quality body filler made in Germany with different versions available for different purposes. The interesting fact - he buys his from the licenced dealer at a price of 150 euro for 10cc.
Can you imagine the possibilities? Even if a doctor charges for their expertise (as they should) and applies a good profit margin, this apperantly high quality product would be affordable for the masses. Fuck - even if you apply 300% margin on this, it is still a viable option for most people wanting to pursue this. And according to this doctor, this filler should last 2 years.
This is the type of filler that a doctor with a good business acumen would take on board and make PE available more widely and not only to a lucky 1% who can afford it. Best of all, it's SAFE. If you don't like it - try it, dissolve it and move on without feeling like you've lost a fortune and all your savings on nothing.
And I do know what I'm talking about. I just had 14 cc of filler dissolved - extremely expensive filler - so it hurts like hell to spend all your savings and go back to nothing.
My intention is not to promote Hyacorp - i don't know anything about this filler, just like I had 0 intention or financial interest in popularising Ellanse. However, I want to open a debate. Make this procedure affordable for the masses. Have doctors practice it so much that they have perfected their routine. Make this less traumatic and costly and more satisfying.
So finally to my questions:
- Why are body fillers not popular for PE when they cost 1/10 of facial fillers and allow for touch ups and experimentation based on the price factor?
- Or maybe they are popular but people on this board don't know anything about it?
- Dr Oates: are you willing to find out more about this filler? You and I have had conversations about filler options before and I know for a fact that you're open minded (open to trialling new products), and that you do have professional and business interest in making this procedure more affordable for Australians. A filler like this could increase your client base by 1000%. Imagine if you can offer 10cc for $1000 or even $2000 or let's stretch it to $3000, which will mean a HUGE profit margin for you and still be very affordable for most Australians. And I mean huge given that in Europe it costs 150 euro for 10 cc. I'm sure you can cut a good deal with the dealer for Australia. Men would be flocking to your clinic by thousands. I know that there is the approval factor so I don't know how that factors in, but if I'm not mistaken it's not illegal to import unapproved fillers in Australia.
The same logic applies to Europeans. Can we convince a European doctor to trial this for PE? I know some of you who talk to me privately have good relationships with doctors in Italy, UK, Spain...
The doctor I had a coversation with had 0 financial interest in promoting this. In fact, this was a very, very marginal topic in our conversation. However, since he did say it's a very high quality product, it comes in different particle sizes (viscosity and cross-linkedness) and is CHEAP as fuck, it made me think about the possibilities....
Help me out here and let's find out more about this filler. And let's bring the monstrously high price of PE 2, 3, 5 or 10 times down.
